Tonight we had Family Home Evening. We sang the Sunbeam song (Nicole’s pick) and I read the scripture and said the prayer. Then Jake gave the lesson on Jesus coming to visit the Nephites after he was crucified. Natalie picked for an activity to make a volcano. So we made a purple one and a green one. The kids all loved it. We then had snow cones for our treat. A fun time was had by all.

Sorry everybody, It’s been awhile since I have posted anything. Life has gotten a little crazy and my free time at the computer (without kids wanting to sit on my lap) seems very limited lately. Jake has been very busy at work. His work moved to a new building and he is doing great at medical supplies purchasing. It’s been quite a change from when he was doing IT stuff. I have been busy keeping up with the kids and trying to keep the house from becoming a disaster. Some days I don’t always succeed but what’s new? Natalie is having a lot of fun taking ice skating lessons with Megan. She has been going for a year now and has gotten pretty good. She now also takes a dance class with Nicole and some neighbor girls. They are learning ballet moves and a little bit of tap dancing. Natalie, Nicole and Baby Jake are also taking swimming lessons. They are getting much better. Natalie still does preschool once a week and is having a good time. Nicole is talking a lot more and loves to do whatever Natalie is doing. Baby Jake can say a few words and understand many (when he wants to). He loves to be outside and play with balls, balloons and constructs. He is growing so fast and is very energetic. We can’t wait for spring when we can get outside a lot more. Thanks for being patient with the few and far between posts. Hopefully, it won’t be another 4 months til the next one.

Natalie has been taking Ice Skating Lessons since January. She loves it. We signed her up for the 2008 Halloween on Ice show at the Murray Ice rink. She skated to Love Potion #9. It was so cute. Thanks to everybody who braved the horrible crowds and came and watched her. For those who couldn’t make it, here is the video of it. (I’m working on it, I am technically challenged so it will have to wait til Jake can help me with it.) Sorry!

 First Day of Preschool
Natalie now goes to preschool with 2 neighborhood friends. She goes once a week and we take turns at whose house it’s at. They learn the letters of the alphabet and number (which she already knows) and do projects and sing songs and play games. She has a great time.

Today, Ginger, Tamra and I played Guillotine, and you have to try to behead the most noble people. I won by a landslide, just kidding, just by a few points. Killing Marie Antoinette helped me the most. Then we played 5 Crowns and I won with 31 points Ginger had 124 and Tamra lost with 168. Next we played Challenge with Bryce and Jake. I won with 1400, Jake next with 1175, Tamra had 695, Bryce came in next with 520 and Ginger kicked it last with 465. Tamra brought me down some Boysenberries and we made shakes with Ginger’s Bullet. They were sooooooo tasty, along with the carmel brownies we ate. We are going to be packing on the pounds.

So… Jake, Jeff , and Brian are off on the 4 day hike to the Uintah’s. They are insane. Their packs (supposed to be 40 pounds, more like 50 for some) are so heavy, they were complaining about carrying them around the house. Jeff’s, no joke, broke when he picked it up to put it on with everything in it. The strap busted, but luckily they sewed it back up and took some thread and needle with them, in case the other strap decided to follow suit. They wanted to be here by 7am and leave by 8am. With all the drama of the strap and the complaining when I made them put their packs on for a picture, they only left 25 minutes late. Hopefully they survive. Heather, Steph, you may want to increase life insurance, before its too late.

Well, I finally did it. I started re-doing Baby Jake’s room. I planned on having it done before he was born, but I started after he turned one. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take forever to finish. I still haven’t picked out the paint yet. Not a good sign. But tearing off the wallpaper is very time comsuming. Especially since, I can only work on it when Baby Jake isn’t sleeping in his crib, and I think he is teething and is of course taking long naps yesterday and today. And it also means he is awake while I am working on it which translates to him pulling on my pant leg and crying most of the time. Natalie and Nicole love helping me pull off the wallpaper though. I soak it with hot water and start pulling on it and when it is down to their height, they take over pulling it off. Julia, you would love it. It is sort of like pulling off dead skin of a sunburn. Sorry, everybody that sounds a little gross, but sometimes a whole section comes off at a time and it is awesome. Most of the time, it just comes off in little pieces. Tamra is coming in one week to stay in this very room. Any bets on if I will make it in time? And just to make it interesting, Jake is leaving on Thursay for a 4 day hike in the Uintahs.

This post is not for Jake, all me. Ben, Cassie and Sam came over and we ate tacos and played games. We played Golf, and thanks to my parents for teaching it to me when I was a kid, I rocked everybody!! Score: Pepper – 91, Cassie – 110, Jake – 117, and Ben – 123. Then Jake taught us how to play 31, which was quick and fun and I just happened to win at that one, too. Score: Pepper – 5, Cassie – 2, Ben – 2, and Jake – 1. Then we moved on to Scrabble and guess what? I won that also. Score: Pepper – 23, Ben – 34, Cassie – 65, and Jake – 100. I beat Ben at Scrabble!! I just had to say that again. It is a rare day when someone beats Ben and it was my second time. Anyway, as streaks go they can’t last and I lost at hearts. Score: Ben – 45, Pepper – 52, Jake – 56, and Cassie – 107.

Today Natalie, Nicole and Baby Jake took their first trip to the bank. They each received a piggy bank from their Grandma Cindy, when she opened an account for them. We have been saving all the coins we can find and put them in the banks. They finally all got so full that we had to go deposit them to start saving more. When we walked into the bank, the bank manager saw us and came up to us and gave the girls a little present for coming in their first time. They got a collapsible ruler and a fun activity book all about banks and crayons. We had a great time and hopefully will be back soon. Natalie came straight home and did her whole activity book. She learned all about pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.

I have been told that people are trying to get me kicked off the blog scene for the crime of not blogging for almost 3 months. (It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long!!!) So, Sorry to everyone who keeps checking by blog and wasting their time. How do you guys find the time to blog? Once in a while, I actually sit down to blog and start by checking my blogs to read and run out of time. Lame excuse, I Know!, but it is true. Hopefully it won’t be another 3 months, but don’t hold your breath, just in case. By the way, I back-date my blogs to the day of the event, so it may not look like that long, but it was.
