The White Cat
In moonlight soft as silver lace,
A white cat wanders through the place.
Her velvet paws make not a sound,
As starlight sparkles on the ground.
Her eyes are bright, her whiskers fine,
She curls beside the window shine.
A gentle purr, a sleepy sigh—
A little cloud beneath the sky.
She chases shadows, dreams of mice,
Then settles down, warm, soft, and nice.
And when the morning paints the blue,
She wakes and waits to play with you.
